Sneaux Day

So I've been slacking on blogging and I'm even behind on posting about this but Thursday it snowed here, in Baton Rouge, which is crazy. I actually woke the boys up so they could play in it and I NEVER wake up sleeping kids. They loved it. Onto the pictures.

It was beautiful and so much fun to watch the boys play in it. The power went out for about 3 hours though and brought back memories of Hurricane Gustav and it was just weird. In like 4 months we had a terrible hurricane and a "winter storm" and trees fell both times blocking our street.

i can't believe my baby turned one yesterday. we had a nice party and then watched the LSU game. i was pretty bummed that we lost, espically after we blocked that field goal at the end, i really thought when that happened that we had it but oh well. just not our year this year. anyway, here are a few pictures from the party and yes, i did make all the cakes.

Happy Halloween

i took the boys to my dads work for a halloween party yesterday and they had fun. then in the evening my BIL and niece came over and we all took the kids trick or treating, we were all kinda bummed that not many houses had their lights on, and i was downright annoyed that our crazy neighboor was sitting outside, with his light on, and had no candy, he had the nerve to give the kids apples! yeah like thats what they wanted. not to mention fruit isnt a safe thing to accept as a treat b/c who knows what's been done to it. and while i dont think hes a dangerous man, i do think hes nuts. he has his high school alma mater flag ABOVE his American flag on his flagpole, which is just wrong.

all in all it was an ok night, not alot of houses had their lights on and the kids got tired of walking past 10 houses just to get to 1 with candy,  which left me strapping both boys in the single stroller and putting my niece on my back (she almost 7 and about 50# so it wasnt easy) and walking probably about a mile home like that, so yeah i was tired. but hey, such is the life of a mom, at least they got a lot of candy for me to steal!

i'm blogging!

so i decided to try to start a blog. it should be interesting since i've never been good at writing.
a little about me first. i'm 25 and married to my wonderful hubby Shawn and we have 2 sons, Connor, who is 3, and Collin, who turns 1 next week. they keep us very busy. Shawn is a computer nerd and i stay at home with the boys. i love to bake and decorate cakes. i'm also very passionate about carseat safety, so don't be surprised if you see lots of info about them. enjoy!
